Digital Rights Management:

DRM is to prevent unauthorized redistribution of digital media and restrict the ways consumers can copy content they have purchased. IT essentially specifies, manages and enforces “rules” in all aspects of the digital content, in particularly in its usage and distribution. It is primarily available only at the PC level because the PC as an end-user system, when connected to the Internet, make it easy for content delivery. The security technologies behind the License Brokers are mature and in the context of DRM, they are being delegated to handle e-commerce and user privacy issues. The DRM framework supports many DRM schemes; which DRM schemes a device supports in up to the device manufacturer. The content scramble system is a DRM and encryption system employed on many commercially produced DVD - Video discs. An effective DRM technology must implement strong security measures to prevent unauthorized use of content. Legal system are related to copyrights. They are rights of authors as opposed to copyrights owners, although generally authors will own the copyrights unless it has been assigned to a third party. The lesson concludes with a discussion on the DRM strategies adopted by many organizations that how to manage and prevent the files.
